Dead Sea - Jordan
His Excellency Abdulhakim Mahmoud Al-Hindi, Chairman of the Tourism and Antiquities Committee in the Senate and Chairman of the Jordan Hotels Association, sponsored the graduation ceremony of tourism facility employees in the Dead Sea area who participated in the Human Trafficking Prevention training course.
This course is part of a series organized by the Human Trafficking Prevention Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department, coordinated and organized in collaboration with the Jordan Hotels Association. Hotels in the Dead Sea region participated in the specialized training on human trafficking, held on Monday, October 14, 2024, and Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Al-Hindi emphasized the importance of such courses in raising awareness among tourism facility employees and strengthening their vital role in combating this phenomenon. He also highlighted that such programs contribute to enhancing Jordan’s reputation as a safe tourist destination, as awareness and knowledge in handling human trafficking cases are essential for achieving this goal.
The two-day course covered several key topics aimed at strengthening the tourism security system, educating participants on the identification of human trafficking victims, the technical rules for gathering evidence in such cases, and the relevant laws and regulations, contributing to the protection of tourism and tourist destinations and enhancing citizens’ and tourists’ sense of security.
During the course, participants were trained on advanced technical rules for gathering evidence in human trafficking cases. The course specifically focused on raising awareness among hotel staff on how to deal with human trafficking cases and ensure a safe and informed environment within hotels.
This course is an important step in Jordan’s efforts to combat human trafficking and ensure a safe and reassuring tourism environment for all, thereby enhancing Jordan’s position as a distinguished tourist destination that prioritizes the safety and security of its visitors.
